SSX
(PS3/Xbox360)
Release date: Feb. 28, 2012
Mad Props or Bad Chops
FINALLY!!! For the longest time I have been a fan of this franchise series. If you like shredding down a mountain at ridiculous speeds, grinding on poles (that's what she said), and getting mad air to do sick tricks, then this game is for you! This has probably been one of the most anticipated games in the new generation consoles for adrenaline junkies and cool kids. If you haven't played any of the SSX series, then you suck! (j/k) If you still have a PS2 I suggest you get SSX Tricky, SSX World Tour, and a corn dog from AMPM for your broke ass! And if you have a PS3, then get this game on February 24th genius! From what I heard, they stayed true to the schematics of the original favorites, except they also added some cool new features. For example, each character has a special niche that makes each character unique. These range from special oxygen masks, to glide suits that let you soar greater distances after a jump. Word is that the maps were actually converted from NASA satellite images, so the mountains you see are actual replicas of the real thing! OMG! That's freakin crazy! The online multi player aspect of racing and trying to beat your friends time is also pretty cool. This allows for friends to compete against a ghost that does the exact run, and you have to beat them down the hill. Hopefully there will be an open world, sort of an online ski resort in which several people can be on a mountain in real time, and actually be playing in real time. The graphics look great, I hope the PS3 version supports 3D, otherwise I will have to throw my new TV off my balcony. KICKASS!!!

Kingdoms of Amulur: Reckoning (PS3/Xbox360/PC)
Release date: Feb. 7, 2012
Mad Props or Bad Chops
This is a game that I played a demo of recently on the PS3, and I really found it different than most RPG games. First of all, it doesn't suck balls like most RPG titles I've fell asleep to in the past years; Second, the combos, weapon/magic selection, and fighting system hold up to an action/adventure button masher. The elements of a standard RPG are all present, from gathering loot to sell for upgrading the heck out of your character to buff him up so you can kick some assets. Unlike many RPG's the combat system is in real time, and is fast paced, so it feels like you are playing an action/adventure game. There is a stealth mode that you can use to sneak up on your enemies and shank their throats, bash in their skulls, and eat their face!!! Then the RPG elements kick in while upgrading weapons, armor, and abilities--the usual stuff to buff up your character. Anyways, I'm not an avid RPG fan, but this one has got my attention. The graphics are good and there is a lot of content. Get it for PS3 or I will eat your face!!!
